Humanist Fellowship of Scotland Celebrant Laura Baird

"It's a privilege to help

people at important, special or difficult times of life - celebrating life, love and precious moments."

Conducting ceremonies since 2008, I have loved every minute of it. Intimate groups or grand affairs, indoors or out, it’s a great privilege to be involved in the most important day of people's lives, helping make it a truly special and memorable occasion.

A meaningful, personal tribute to help celebrate that someone lived and was loved is an important part of their life. Each person’s unique experience of life leaves enduring memories with us so sharing their story - the happy memories as well as the foibles - in a dignified, honest and even humorous way can be genuinely uplifting.

Based in the Borders, I’m happy to undertake ceremonies in the Lothians and Borders as well as further afield around Scotland in so many beautiful and inspiring locations.

I’m so fortunate to combine this great pleasure alongside a creative and colourful mix of pursuits in the arts and crafts world, having previously followed a career in law and government. I bring skills drawn from speaking at home and abroad to shaping unique ceremonies and tributes.

See some nice things people have said about me below.

Feel free to call and discuss your own personalised ceremony.

A happy day with Richard & Becky and GWS Photography
